Stevie Nicks wrote this reflective ballad early in her career, then re-released it over 30 years later. Interestingly, the lyrics speak of change and ageing in ways that are meaningful both for the woman moving from youth to adulthood and for her later move into middle-age.

The arrangement takes both recordings as reference-points, and is also informed by a number of recordings of live performances. It features the lead as the prime vehicle of the narrative, with the harmony parts initially supporting just with neutral syllables, and gradually joining in with the delivery of the lyric to build the song's emotional arc.
